Murray Bale – Director & Sales
It has always been all about farming for Murray Bale and he says he leapt at the chance to work at Bryant Tractors when it was first being formed in September of 1979 and came on board as a tractor mechanic.
Since then, he has filled every role in the business, and has helped build it to the reputable and trusted brand it is today – but he can still be found out in the workshop helping his team. As an A Grade diesel mechanic, Murray sticks to his hands-on approach and gets involved with service enquiries and any issues that pop up that he can assist with.

Ivo Yelavich – Sales
“I am an ex-farmer and contractor – I know the industry well. I have been driving tractors since I was 10-years-old. I know the importance of farming – I know that New Zealand’s, and Northland’s, major income streams are from this essential industry. “
Ivo (pronounced Evo) is Northland born and raised, and has farming in his blood. Following 36 years as a farming contractor, Ivo brought his knowledge to Bryant Tractors in 2010. After growing up on a farm, Ivo knows the importance of good, reliable tractors, machinery and equipment to a successful farm business.
Ivo loves to travel around Northland and is happy to stop by any farm gate for a visit to chat about the latest range of tractors, or even second hand machinery or equipment requirements.

Trent Guy – Salesperson
Born and bred on a dairy farm in Waipu, Trent moved to Waimate in South in Canterbury as a child. There his parents converted two sheep and beef farms to dairy. He worked on dairy farms for 20 years starting as a farm assistant, and eventually owned his own dairy farm, as well as somewhere in between running their own broiler chicken farm for four years.
Trent’s hobbies include fishing, hunting, playing squash, and SCUBA diving. He’s currently studying for his Dive Master ticket. He also enjoys time with his wife, Aimee and their four children, and especially enjoys watching his children play sport.
When it comes to knowing which tractors and implements to choose for your needs, Trent’s your man. He has owned Massey Ferguson, John Deere and Kubota tractors, and has had plenty of hands-on experience with several brands of square baler, spray units and Lely/Massey Ferguson mowers. He has also used a variety of earth working equipment and is familiar with Northland farm terrains, soils and crops.

Tim Johnson – Service Manager
Service manager Tim Johnson knows all there is to know about tractors. He has worked at Bryant Tractors for more than 20 years and co-ordinates the service department’s operations and provides technical information to clients. His mission is to ensure their clients think about preventive maintenance.
“Preventative maintenance is an essential part of owning and operating any vehicle. My advice would be to ensure your vehicles are serviced on time, and at an operator level, each day fluid levels are checked and a visual inspection for any leaks and wear is carried out. Anyone unsure of what to look for can give me a call or discuss this with one of our Service Technicians at our next visit.”
Outside of work, Tim is a keen fisherman and enjoys Northland’s great outdoors.

Brent Moon – Parts Manager
Bryant Tractors parts manager Brent Moon is not new to the farming machinery industry, with more than 13 years’ experience under his belt. Sourcing parts and being the “guy in the know” is all part of his role on a daily basis and is something he enjoys.
“I enjoy meeting all the different people that come through our doors. Meeting farmers and having a chat to them. We can source economical aftermarket parts for most makes and models, and if we don’t have a part in stock, we can normally supply it overnight.”

Alicia Schultz - Service Administrator
Alicia knows her way around a workshop, having previously organised the workshop for a local water pump company. She’s been around farming and worked in the agricultural industry, and says,
“My main goal as Service Administrator is to provide good service to all Bryant Tractors’ customers.”
When she’s not on the job, Alicia’s favourite thing to do is enjoy time with her family.

Sandra Hewinson – Administrator
Our administrator, Sandra, is well-known in the business community with more than fifteen years as a business owner. Because she’s been doing administration for her own business for so long, she really knows her apples when it comes to management, HR, general office skills, accounts receivable, accounts payable, wages and all that goes with keeping Bryant Tractors running smoothly as a business.
Her personal interests are mostly around family, relaxing, and reading. She also loves to travel both within New Zealand and internationally.

Danie Jansen – Parts Interpreter
Danie and his family recently emigrated from South Africa and are loving the Northland lifestyle. Bryant Tractors is delighted to have been able to add Danie’s six years of industry experience to the team. Previously he worked as a mechanic for three years and then moved into more specialised fields, working on implements such as rakes, mowers, balers, harvesters, planters, crop sprayers and spreaders.
Danie says, “My orientation towards team work is summed up by this quote from Henry Ford: ‘Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.’”
Engaging in fun-filled family outings really rock Danie’s boat on his time off as well as enjoying his kids’ rugby. When he can get to it, he’s seriously into fishing, hunting and golf.
